About Home Tales
Home Tales is built and run by Chris and Nicky, who have looked after more than fifty homes as house sitters since 2019. Every guide on the site is written by Chris.

Chris builds Home Tales and writes the guides. Everything in them comes from sits he and Nicky have done themselves, and every figure matches how Home Tales works. If a guide is wrong, or there is a question it should answer, email [email protected].

Nicky has shared every one of those fifty-plus sits with Chris, from two months with four dogs in Bali to five months with a cat in Somerset, and brings that experience to how Home Tales treats sitters, hosts and pets.
Why we started Home Tales
Our first sit was in Bali in 2019, halfway through a year-long trip around the world. Since then we have looked after more than fifty homes, and kept hearing the same two stories: sitters working full-time for no reward, and home owners trusting a complete stranger with their most prized possessions.
Home Tales is our answer: trained, verified sitters who get a proper reward for excellent work, so home owners can hand over their keys and have a worry-free time away. The full story, and what hosts have said about us as sitters, is on the home page.
